This is one of our first explorations of Yakisugi timber cladding which perfectly compliments the material palette inside the kitchen and dining spaces within.

Yakisugi is the traditional Japanese method of wood preservation by charring timber, changing its cell structure and minimising the need for maintenance making it a perfect cladding material to withstand the ropey British weather!

Large sliding doors, a corner glazed window seat and a number of roof-lights ensure the large space within is naturally lit right into the deep areas of the floor plan.
